A Meeting

Our eyes meet and the laws that govern time
Are suspended to isolate this space,
This moment when all other sounds are chased,
But this angelic voice and the Divine.
The warmth of this new hand pressed into mine
Is only matched by the light ‘round her face.
So now, in her, I recognize the grace
That once brought forth, in passion, space and time.
But passion’s suspension, to firmer ground,
Must return, and so my eyes fell away
As from the suns shimmer at midday found.
In these few seconds we spent many days
Entangled upon the water’s of time
Till space could be found for our lives entwined.
