Vitruvian Buildings

Buildings like men,
Towering titans in
This tiny town.

I rest by the river,
Carved into the heartland
Like a child grinding his fingernail
In a sandbox.

I can be a speck on the
Side of these lazy currents,

But beneath those ruddy bricks -
Stacked so carefully
By over zealous primates -
It seems what makes
Them feel so big
Makes me so small.
